Song: Batang-bata Ka Pa
Writer: Jim Paredes
Singer: APO Hiking Society
The song “Batang-bataka pa” was composed by Jim Paredes and was popularized by the APO Hiking society during the 80’s. For what I have analyzed, it is dedicated to all the children out there. It’s tells that they are too young, and have a lot to learn about things. It gives advice to the kid, to listen to the elders who have faced so many obstacles in life, struggles and ten managed to survive. Life must be taken seriously, it is not all about living and about yourself. It is about living it practically and enjoying it. One must not hurry when it comes to life. It should be slowly but surely.
Batang-bataka pa at marami ka pang
Kailangan malaman at intindihin sa mundo
Yan ang totoo….
We people are like plain white papers, empty when we were born. As we grow old and old, this paper was filled with writings. These are the knowledge and experiences we have when we were growing. We all need guidance from experts to help us build our personality. When I was young I was curious about almost all the things in my surrounding and ask for what it is one by one another. It is in all of us because it is our nature when we were kids. That’s why listening to this music make sense to both parents and children to build a strong foundation about the journey of life.
Whenever I listen to this song, I remember all the things that I’ve done without thinking of the consequences that may occur. I also remembered all the advices and lessons that my parents told me every day when I was young, the mistakes I committed and the consequences I’ve suffered. But because of these I evolved to be a better person. I cannot forget my past whenever I hear this song. It makes me calm and makes my thoughts travel to different dimensions.
